So, for the last couple of weeks I have been torn nearly in half trying to decide one of the most important decisions of my life thus far, "where to actually settle down and go to school?" Lately I have been up here in Provo, Utah and if I stay then I'll end up going to BYU. Sure it's a great school and all with a good environment but, it has its drawbacks like everything else in life. Then on the other hand there is good ole ASU. Not that I'm wanting to go there simply because of the fact that it's such a known party school but that it's home. Home is home. Right now it's 5:00 AM July 24th and I have yet to go to bed just thinking about this dilemma. I need to decide quick because the semesters are going to be starting really soon and I don't want to be caught sitting on the fence not able to get the classes that I want/need and being someplace that I don't exactly want to be. Why is it that life is so complicated. This one little decision is going to shape a very large portion of my life and I'm torn between the pros and cons of the situation.
ASU: Has the New Poly Tech campus, be home near familiar friends and family, NO SNOW or Utards,
BYU: Well accredited conservative school which large buisnesses and government jobs like, get to truly experience the college life, don't have to worry about stepping out of class to breath cigarette smoke, more likely to continue on with photography

Oh Cameron, I feel your pain. I didn't experience it myself, but Danny did very much so when we were engaged and trying to decide where to live. Pray about it. See how you feel. Where will you be the happiest during your time there? I think that's what really matters. ;) Good luck!
Those both seem to be good reasons to stay in both. Do you think that because ASU isn't as conservative of a school [at least not as much as BYU] that it would be harder for you to get a job after you graduate? And I would vote no snow no matter what, lol. Why do you think you wouldn't continue with your photography here in AZ?
I guess in the end it is totally your decision. I don't know if it works the same way, but most Catholics pray to the big man for guidance in tough or life changing situations. Just trust what you think is the best for YOU, not all the people who want you to move back or to stay. We'll cope no matter what, just always do what is going to make you happy. I think that that's what counts most. <3
Little bro - I know this is a tough choice but in reality it doesn't really shape the rest of your life. The fact is - an education is what matters and both places will give you that and it's basically the same curriculum and material that you would be learning. Both colleges are accredited and have great marks. And, really, if you make a choice and end up not liking the choice there is always another one. It's not like your life would be over if one place doesn't work out the way you want. Unfortunately life doesn't work out the way we plan it...flexibility is key and being able to "roll with the punches" will help anyone go a long way in their life. All choices we make have good and bad consequences and we just need the ability to come up with a new plan when things don't go the way we think they should. TRUST me, I'm the queen of wrong choices and making plans that don't work out!! Whatever choice you make remember to pray about it to see if that's what you should do and then just do it! You are a great person and we all love you!
